LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A West Louisville church was completely destroyed by fire Saturday afternoon.
The Greater Nazarene Baptist Church in the 1900 block of Cedar Street has been reduced to a charred frame.
The fire started just after 4 p.m. and firefighters saw that the building was fully engulfed. The fire was so intense; it caused the roof to collapse.
There were no reports of injuries.
The church's pastor says he was at the church about two hours before the fire started and he didn't notice anything wrong.
??Well it was just like everything was coming apart, coming down. I left here about two o?clock and everything was just fine,? Issac Shoulders, the pastor of Greater Nazarene Baptist Church, said.
About 250 people could fit inside the church but the pastor says the entire community will feel the loss of this building.
